VERSE joined the EcoFashionGR Vidcast at JOIST Innovation Park to discuss how sustainability and circular economy principles can shape a more responsible and innovative fashion industry.

VERSE on the EcoFashionGR Vidcast: From Fast Fashion to Sustainable Fashion

On September 4, 2025, VERSE was featured in the EcoFashionGR Vidcast: From Fast Fashion to Sustainable Fashion, hosted at JOIST Innovation Park in Larissa, Greece.
The event was co-organized by the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (iED) and JOIST, bringing together voices from across the fashion and sustainability ecosystem to discuss the future of responsible design.
Representing VERSE was Nikos Benetos (Nick Benetos), team member at BRAINSHOT, one of the VERSE project partners responsible for communication and branding leader.

A Conversation on the Future of Fashion
Moderated by Maria Tsimpoukli (Fashion Retail Director & Co-owner, MSc Sustainability & Circular Economy), the discussion also featured Nancy Karakante, Designer and Founder of Cycladia Jewellery & Vintage Shop.
Together, the speakers explored the pressing question: How can sustainability and circular economy principles reshape fashion into a more responsible, inclusive, and innovative industry?
Throughout the conversation, topics ranged from consumer behavior and ethical production to education and the role of emerging designers in leading the shift toward circularity.

The VERSE Perspective
As part of the conversation, VERSE was presented as an Erasmus+ initiative that bridges fashion, education, and technology.
Through an international collaboration between universities, VET providers, and industry partners from Italy, France, Portugal, Greece, and Ukraine, VERSE aims to empower students to become creative changemakers capable of shaping the sustainable fashion industry of tomorrow.
The project introduces an educational model that connects design thinking, deep-tech tools, and social responsibility, ensuring that future professionals are equipped to respond to the evolving demands of both the market and the planet.
Why Conversations Like These Matter
Events like the EcoFashionGR Vidcast are essential in bringing together academia, creative industries, and entrepreneurs to share insights, foster dialogue, and spark new collaborations.
By participating in this discussion, VERSE contributed to a growing movement that sees education as a key driver of transformation in fashion — from fast to fair, and from linear to circular.
